DESCRIPTION:This 30 year old\, annual spring street festival is located on Grand Avenue between Escondido Blvd and Juniper Street in beautiful Historic Downtown Escondido. \n​ \nSince 1989\, the Escondido Street Festival has had many names but has brought thousands of people to our beautiful historic downtown.  In 2022\, under new ownership by the Escondido Downtown Business Association and with the help of a music grant\, improvements were made to increase marketing and add quality professional live music\, stage and sound and a beer and wine garden.  The result of these changes brought a substantial increase in vendors.  According to city calculated cell phone data\, the Escondido Street Festival is consistently the largest event in the City of Escondido. \n​​ \nIn addition to the traditional street fair format\, this years festival will\, once again\, include free Professional Live Music\, a Beer & Wine Garden and Art in the Garden.  Bring the family to shop from hundreds of vendors including unique hand-crafted gifts and imports\, and international cuisine. \n​ \nFREE Community Event!

This free walk meetup is a fun\, relaxed\, and informal way to connect and network with fellow nonprofit leaders\, funders\, and Board members. \nWe will be hosted by the Escondido Creek Conservancy! Join us to walk by nature restoration sites and visit a rare Engelmann Oak grove. \nTime and Date: Thursday\, June 27 at 10am \nMeeting Location: Sardina Preserve 25320 Lake Wohlford Road \nDirections Note: Google Maps will take you directly to the preserve. That said\, there is no sign at the Sardina Preserve entrance and cars are moving fairly quickly along that section of Lake Wohlford Road. The entrance is on the north (left as you go up the hill) and through a black wrought iron gate. Half the gate will be open; drive through and we’ll direct you from there. \nWho can attend: Anyone in the nonprofit and philanthropic field. Though we often encourage furry friends\, this walk may be too warm for dogs to join us. \nParking: We will meet you at the gate and direct you to parking. \nWalk Details: The Sardina Preserve is 282 acres. The walk will be mostly on the old ranch roads. The Conservancy is restoring the Sardina Preserve to native habitat. \nDifficulty Level: Easy. The walk is mostly level with some rolling topography. It could be warm so please bring water\, a hat and sunscreen. \nAbout Our Host: The mission of the Escondido Creek Conservancy (www.escondidocreek.org) is to preserve and restore the Escondido Creek watershed in North County. The Conservancy owns/manages 3\,000 acres of conservation land\, and implements outdoor education programs for youth in North County\, many of whom are from disadvantaged communities. \n— \nNonprofit NetWalks are a community service of High Five Career Coaching. \nHigh Five specializes in providing executive coaching\, teambuilding\, succession planning\, and organizational development services to nonprofits and healthcare/life science orgs. DESCRIPTION:“Cuando la cultura muere\, la  gente muere” – anónimo \n“When the culture dies\, the people die” – unknown \n  \nEl Santo Golpe better translates to The Mighty Hit\, the feeling that we all get when we experience a powerful sense of joy\, an unexpected punch of happiness as we connect with a song\, a rhythm\, movement\, art\, and an experience in our lives that brings is us peacefulness and alegria! This artist collective was created to introduce an original take to the fun world of “Afro-Latin” music\, as they borrow influences of rhythms\, sounds\, traditions\, and Folklore from the Afro Latin Diaspora around the world. El Santo Golpe is a one-of-a-kind musical spectacle that originated in Riverside\, California in 2016\, formed by a group of close friends\, family\, and fellow artists. All share a vision and love for the music that now creates El Santo Golpe. El Santo Golpe honors different cultures\, history\, and traditions by using traditional instrumentation like eight-string Jaranas\, Tarima (a wooden platform)\, Djembe\, Primera\, and Accordion\, to mention a few\, as well as dances and expressions influenced by Mexican Folklore\, Bomba from Puerto Rico\, West African Dance\, and more. El Santo Golpe has one main goal\, to use their music as the universal language to help close gaps between cultures\, genres\, ages\, and beliefs\, creating a worldwide community where we can all dance\, sing\, laugh\, and forget about our daily troubles. \n  \nEl Santo Golpe – El sentimiento que se presenta cuando encontramos un poderoso sentido de satisfacción\, un inesperado golpe de felicidad cuando estamos frente a una canción\, un ritmo\, un movimiento\, una pieza de arte\, o una experiencia en nuestras vidas que nos trae tranquilidad y alegría. El Santo Golpe es un colectivo artístico creado con la visión de brindar un monto original al divertido mundo de música Afrolatina\, tomando prestadas influencias de ritmos\, sonidos\, tradiciones\, y folklor\, de la diáspora afrolatina alrededor del mundo. El Santo Golpe es un espectáculo único que origino en Riverside California en el año 2016\, formado por un grupo de amigxs cercanos\, familia\, y compañerxs en el arte\, compartiendo una visión y amor por la música\, la cual ahora crea El Santo Golpe. El Santo Golpe honra diferentes culturas\, historia\, y tradiciones al usar instrumentos tradicionales varias partes del mundo\, como por ejemplo la Jarana de 8 cuerdas\, Tarimas (plataformas de madera)\, Jembé\, Primera\, y acordeón por mencionar algunos\, al igual presentan danzas y expresiones con influencias del Folklore Mexicano\, Bomba de Puerto Rico\, Danza Africana\, y mucho más.
