Bottle Peak was protected forever by a partnership of The Escondido Creek Conservancy and San Diego County Parks and Recreation, who split ownership. The Conservancy owns the top and we’d like to take you there. Because the parking is limited, we’ll meet as a group to form carpools and travel together to the site. The hike is mostly uphill and approximately 4 miles round trip. This is an athletic walk with rock scrambling at the very end to the top. We will split the group for those who’d prefer not to scramble and would rather contemplate the flowers at the base of the boulders while the others climb. In both cases, please wear good hiking boots, a hat and sunscreen and bring water. You’ll meet Conservancy board members and learn about Conservancy activities. Bottle Peak is a wonderful location to see the Escondido Creek watershed! More details will be sent to those that register, the week before the hike.
