CRY San Diego Dandiya 2024 – California Center for the Arts

CRY Dandiya is an inclusive celebration of Indian culture, welcoming participants from all communities to join in the festivities. The event begins with Garba, a traditional Gujarati dance performed in a circular formation, characterized by graceful movements and rhythmic clapping. Following Garba, the energetic Dandiya dance takes center stage, where participants dance with dandiya sticks in pairs, accompanied by lively Bollywood music fused with modern beats.
The venue is transformed into a bustling Indian marketplace, featuring stalls offering a variety of traditional and modern jewelry, beautiful clothing, and other items. Food vendors enhance the atmosphere with a delectable array of Indian delicacies from various food vendors in town!
Beyond its cultural celebration, CRY Dandiya emphasizes inclusivity and community spirit, welcoming people from diverse backgrounds to come together and enjoy the festivities. Furthermore, the event serves a charitable purpose, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting underprivileged children, adding a meaningful dimension to this joyous occasion of dance, music, and cultural unity.
