Folk-rock singer/songwriter Al Barnes hails from a small town in Minnesota called Elbow Lake. When he was 14, Barnes got a guitar for Christmas, taught himself how to play and formed a band with his best friends. Barnes played all over the Midwest for over a decade in the rock bands NotWithstanding and Xerxes Palomino.
In 2017, Barnes moved to San Diego to pursue a solo music career and recorded his debut folk album “Out of Place.” Since then, he has played countless shows and released two more heartfelt folk albums (Northern Nostalgia in 2019 and You Can Call Me Alexander in 2021). In 2022, Barnes quit his day job to play music full time. You can catch him performing his catchy folk/pop-punk style covers and originals live at wineries around Southern California!
